中国のインディペンデント映画の歴史は、1980年代末から90年代初めに遡ることができます。しかし2004年から、中国の映画管理に関する政策が次第に緩和され、また市場化と資本の流動が深く影響したことで、これまで「アンダーグラウンド映画」と呼ばれて、周辺に位置づけられていたインディペンデント映画が、次々と「地上」に現れてきました。そのため、2004年は中国のインディペンデント映画の転換を象徴する一年となりました。それだけではなく、近年、若く才能ある映像制作者たちが次々と現れています。今回この上映会を開催する目的は、この2004年を境としてここ数年の間に製作された、アニメや短編を含む中国インディペンデント映画を日本の皆様とこれを分かち合うことにあります。皆さんの想像する、または皆さんがよくご存知である「中国インディペンデント映画」と比較しても、今回の作品たちはより多元的で、素晴らしく、皆様に驚きをもって迎えられるであろうと、我々は期待しております。

中国独立电影的历史可以追溯到20世纪80年代末90年代初。2004年起，因为中国有关电影管理的文化政策逐步放松，以及市场化和资本流动的深入影响，从前被称为“地下电影”的、存在于边缘地带的独立电影纷纷在这一年“走上地面”，因此这一年也象征性地标志着中国独立电影的转型。更加重要的是，近年有更多年轻而有才华的影像制作者出现。大致以2004为界，将最近几年内制作的中国独立电影（包括动画和短片）与日本的观众一起分享，是我们这一影展的主要目的。希望和你所想象或者你所熟悉的“中国独立”相比，这些长短篇不仅多元、精彩，且令人惊叹。

Chinese independent cinema has been launched since late 80s and early 90s by a new generation of filmmakers among whom Zhang Yuan, Jia Zhangke, Wang Xiaoshuai, Lou Ye and Wang Bing have garnered film awards at major world film festivals, and their film works have been highly regarded as part of the gem of international art cinema. With its evolvement over two decades, Chinese indie cinema has been continuously regenerated with young filmmakers and refreshingly new perspectives. Despite of their high visibility at international film festivals, many of these young filmmakers and their works remain little known outside of the film festival circuit. Our screening events feature a small effort in bringing some of the innovative and daring works to Kansai area. We hope through the screenings, the independent films, including animations and shorts would meet its most dedicated audience in West Japan.
